The art of the side hustle

Hello again ladies and gentlemen!

Today I’d like to talk about something very important for the average person looking to increase their earning potential while running little to no risk.

Yes, you got it right. I’m talking about the mysterious and often mentioned side hustle.

So for starters, what can we look forward to with a side hustle?

Some of the best parts about a side hustle are:

  1. Focusing on your creativity. A side hustle can be something that you enjoy doing, something that comes natural to you. The simpler, the better. We’re not looking to learn a whole new skill set here, it needs to be something you’re already at least reasonably good at.

2. Doing what you’re passionate about. You also want to make sure that not only you are passionate about this project. An interesting example is a lady on Etsy that makes toppers for aquariums that house small rodents.

3. Retaining your freedom. You can start a side hustle with very little or no capital, which means that you can grow the business at your own pace and while keeping your job. This is a big deal for some people, as not everybody should necessarily quit their job and become an entrepreneur.

So how can you market your new venture without spending your money?

In the example above, Etsy was used to market this person’s project. Ebay and Amazon can also be used to market your product, and even Fiverr for services such as voice over talents.

You can make tutorials on Youtube or Etsy itself about your product, talking about its features or serving as how-to articles on how to use your new product idea.

You can then find Facebook, Google+ and other social media groups like Pinterest to find groups of people who will serve as your target market.

My name is Drew Anderson and I'm a manager at an accounting firm. I don't really see this as being my dream career, so I always look for ways to improve my life and find newer, more exciting opportunities.
